Club night July 29th
There’s plenty to read this week – keep scrolling down the page when you come to the end of Club Night News
Thursday – Awayday at Rockhampton Fun Run (4 mile MT) The organisers are expecting to start as near to 7pm as possible from the Old Cricket Field, so please get there early - particularly if you have not pre-registered (entry £4). The 18 who have pre-registered will just need to pick up their numbers, which will be waiting. Bar open afterwards and if it is a fine evening there will probably be a BBQ.
The Walking Group is also meeting at Rockhampton for the Fun Run. Leader Mike Slade will then be away for two weeks, but the group will meet as usual at Turnberries.
Well done Angela Bushell and Sarah Bradley who both recorded PBs in the Gloucester Half Marathon at the weekend. Results are here – so too are times from the Avon Clubs Mob Match (scroll down the Home Page for Mob Match report). Well done also to Jo Plumbley, Sandra Webber, Maddie Parrott, Rich Phillips, Alan Taylor, Pete Mainstone and Arthur Renshaw who all completed the London Triathlon on Sunday – results will be up on the Tri Results page soon.
Five Valleys – John Grimsey is now recruiting for the 21-mile Five Valleys Walk/run on September 26, a beautifully scenic route through Gloucestershire, organised by the Meningitis Trust, and a favourite TRC event. See John for more details or click here http://www.meningitis-trust.org/fivevalleyswalk/ .
An Invitation from Pete Mainstone to join him on a Wye Valley Run/Walk, August 22. A figure-of-eight route starting at Redbrook, then to Tintern along the river on the Wye Valley Path, climb up on to the Offas Dyke Path leading back to Redbrook. Continue on the Offas Dyke Path, climbing up to the Kymin above Monmouth, drop down and then return to Redbrook along the Wye Valley Path. It will be about 13 miles and a good 2hr 30 min run. There is a pub on the river opposite the car park. If people do want to walk, Pete needs to know so that he can make arrangements.
25th Party snaps –plenty more are now up on the website gallery.
This September the club is entering teams in the Midland Road Race Championships at Sutton Park, Birmingham. The men’s team runs six 6km legs, the women four 4km legs. Team selection won’t begin until mid-August, so now is the time to get training. Why not make use of our coached interval sessions on Thursday and Tuesday evenings? If you need help in planning a training schedule, speak to one of our coaches who are all listed here.
